Benefiting from almost forty years of experience, South Bank Playhouse consistently produces drama and comedy of the highest quality. With our own rehearsal and performance space at Kimberley Drive in South Belfast, we were formed in 1998 when two of Belfast’s foremost amateur companies, the Osborne and Trident Players joined together.

Each season includes three main productions in the Autumn, Spring and Summer alongside rehearsed readings and special company events. With plays ranging from traditional classics to uproarious farces and some slightly more unusual pieces, recent productions have included Juno and the Paycock, Lend Me A Tenor and All My Sons.

We currently have more than 70 members and the company is managed by a committee of 9 people who are elected each year at the AGM. The committee currently includes: Penny Beggs (Chair), John Mageean, Elizabeth Love, Mark Overell, Jolena Flett, Eugene O Hare, Chris Palmer, Nora Harvey and Michele Markin.
