We perform three main productions each year (in November, March and July/August),
with additional rehearsed readings and company evenings throughout the year.
When
are the next auditions? The next auditions are for our RSC Open Stages production
in March 2012. The auditions will take place on Thursday 5th January at 7.30 pm and
Sunday 8th January at 2.30 pm at South Bank Playhouse (get directions here).
Do I need to be a member to audition? No, anyone can come along and audition and you won’t be expected to become a member until you take part in your second production with the company (find out more about membership here). NB: due to the conditions of the RSC Open Stages project, anyone performing in our next show will have to be a member, but new members can audition and join up if cast.
Do I need to prepare an audition piece? No. Our auditions are very informal and typically involve reading the play as a group, swapping parts around to ensure everyone gets a chance to read.
What if I want to get involved backstage? Come along to the audition and let the director know how you’d like to be involved, or email southbankplayhouse@yahoo.co.uk.
