Benefiting from almost forty years of experience, South Bank Playhouse consistently produces drama and comedy of the highest quality. With our own rehearsal and performance space at Kimberley Drive in South Belfast, we were formed in 1998 when two of Belfast’s foremost amateur companies, the Osborne and Trident Players joined together.

Each season includes three main productions in the Autumn, Spring and Summer alongside rehearsed readings and special company events. With plays ranging from traditional classics to uproarious farces and some slightly more unusual pieces, recent productions have included Conversations On A Homecoming, Animal Farm and Absurd Person Singular.

We currently have more than 70 members and the company is managed by a committee of 10 people who are elected each year at the AGM. The committee currently is : David Fullerton (Chair); Philip McDonagh (Treasurer); Angelique Corry (Secretary); Penny Beggs; Michele Marken; Elizabeth Love; Stephen Beggs; Johnny McGurgan; Ruth Osborne.
